By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God. (1John 4:2)

Question 3: Spirit, do you confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord?
When one reads passages such as Romans 10:5-10, it appears that confession is made from the heart. This is one of the reasons this includes the word “confess” in the questions. In addition, both 1 John 4:2 and 1 John 4:15 include the word confess.
